Alrighty.
Let me address several things, because I am currently waiting for dinner to be done, and enough time to do so. Although I don't need to justify myself, I do need to do the favor of pointing out a few things to the oversensitive pretentious assholes about this gag.

This gag is not because I "have too much time on my hands", because I "need attention", or whatever. Yes, I am in high school, that has very little to do with this at all, or my maturity level.

The reason I started this journal, following [info]dave_the_great's example, is because of the sheer stupidity of freaking out over someone adding you. All these people are writing three paragraphs to me, taking five minutes of their lives to tell me what a terrible, sick person I am because I took all of (maybe) an hour altogether to add 750 people (really, it's not difficult, go to a community, or a profile, and click on every single person, add, then click back three times...a matter of seconds). These people are saying things like, "Excuse any typos I made out of anger." If something this trivial, this inane, this completely pointless makes you THAT angry...you're saying I have issues? This has been entertaining for me, because honestly I am fond of myself (oh, yes, young and arrogant...I'm setting myself up for insults by the dozens), and this kind of reaction over, as said, something so....gah, unimportant...is just amusing. The hypocrisy is blinding. I have to say, I could understand this slightly irritating you, but to go on and on about it for ages, and then to come back and reply some more, even angrier, is more time consuming and just plain stupid than the gag itself. You choose your battles. If you've chosen this one (see [info]blackjackrocket's comments, he/she/they is/are a perfect example of this).

That's all.

Good evening.

P.S. Afterthought: I notice that I have some people on this list who are gamers, Yu-Gi-Oh (spelling?) players, etc. And I know that at least a few people on my list are online at least a few hours a night. Why is it that it's just a waste of time to amuse myself in this way, and I have no life? What's it they say? Pot. Kettle. Black.

Rock the fuck on!! I'm with you here, people get so damned uppity about their damn journals!
The truth is, it was their decision to make something like a livejournal, therefore anything they put out there is up for anyone's eyes. If they don't like it, make it private/friends only. That's the thing about the internet. People need to understand that if they chose to put their journals out there then anything that happens as a result of that is their choice as well.
And, really, who gives a shit if you're going around adding people!? Big damn deal! It's not like you're getting their home address and stalking them for chrissakes. People get their panties in a bunch over NOTHING.

You see. This is exactly my point. Here you are, gettling all ruffled up about something extremely minor such as people, who you randomly added, that you don't know, making negative comments about who you are and what you have done which is equally just as minor. And you cannot possibly say that it does not bother you, in whatever manner, because if it truly didn't, you would not make a lengthy post about it.

See? You get what you give. It was all a minor annoyance to everyone, and it has become a minor annoyance to you. Do YOU enjoy it? I don't think so, and neither does anyone who is the "butt" of the joke.

I don't care if someone randomly adds me. My journal is completely private; it makes no difference to me. But some people do care, and even if that's stupid, or obsessive compulsive, there is nothing "wrong" in respecting what they want if they never bothered you once. And you know, people can tell me that my views on this are all high and mighty or hypocritical, but. You know. Say what you want. It's not going to make me mad, or upset, or feel stupid.

If someone has a personality flaw, that is there own business, but when you make it apart of everyone else's business, you have absolutely no right to get argue or get upset when other's have a problem with it.

Oooh! I can find another hole in his reasoning. In this entry, he writes:

The reason I started this journal, following dave_the_great's example, is because of the sheer stupidity of freaking out over someone adding you.

And then he writes:

I have to say, I could understand this slightly irritating you, but to go on and on about it for ages, and then to come back and reply some more, even angrier, is more time consuming and just plain stupid than the gag itself.

He claims to be annoyed (but only slightly, now, since this is trivial) over the reactions he's getting when those reactions (the 'freaking out") are the reasons he's doing it in the first place. If that's his goal, why then say "I could understand if...."

Why do something so pointless just to annoy people? Why? I truly don't understand getting joy from annoying a lot of people. Clearly, you are mature for your age, because you write well.

Also, you cannot assume everyone's LJ experience is as trivial as you consider yours to be. For example, someone in my family recently passed away, and I found it to be invaluable as a method of communicating with my friends during that time.

I am the person who made the "angry typos." For the record, I am not a gamer, and I'm not online for hours every night. And the paragraphs I wrote to you took 3 minutes, tops. Hence all the typos. I have now moved from anger to curiosity.

And, if your endeavor is trivial as you say, why all the excitement over reaching 750? Big huge text and everything. I could see if maybe it was an experiment in trying to get to know as many people as possible out of a list of 750, or something, but that doesn't seem to be your goal. And, if it's trivial, just why bother? It would be much more of a challenge, I think, to try to add 750 reciprocally, as well as less annoying.

PS. I am actually delighted when random people add me -- that is, if they are actually interested in my journal. What I don't like is having my journal used to reach some silly goal. I'm not completely upset over such things, but I am starting to find this phenomenon psychologically interesting because I can't seem to understand it aside from the facile explanation that it's an attention-getting ploy.

You may not have added me... and I'm glad of that. But the reason why people "freak out".. over being added is simple. If the journal is friends only.. you want to know who is reading your jounral and you don't want to be tied to with anyone with.. twisted interest.. or someone who would be bored enough to actually write and come up with such intrest. And though...true... You have to be added back before you can read the jounal.. but you do have bored dorks... who someone found away around this. Trust me.. I know a few. Though.. some people are comfortable sharing their life with people they don't know, they aren't comfortabel shraing it with small minded assholes... who will talk...make fun... or what ever about their lives. You may say they shouldn't put their life on public journal's then. But.. We have right of publication.... which also gives us a right to we want to see those.

I'm not saying you have no life. I'm saying that you should try to uunderstand the feelinsg of those before you decide to..."amuse" yourself in such a way

It's just a goddamned live journal!

Why are people so damn serious about these things???
It's true, if you're going to be so paranoid about who's fucking reading it, why are you keeping an online log...?
Why not just scribble your horribly private thoughts into a paper journal? And then let only those you really really trust read it there? No need to worry about unknown people asking to read it then! >_<

I use a live journal just to rant about stuff, get feedback on things, and let people know how I'm doing, because apparently, people are actually interested in this sort of thing. Big deal. It's friends only because of some users who decided it would be fun to harass me for no apparent reason. I have no idea how they even stumbled upon my journal in the first place or why it was singled out for the sudden flames. They wouldn't stop, so I just said: Screw it.
I could give a shit who adds me to their friends list. I never did. If I don't add someone back, it's because I find their journal either boring or annoying.
If you don't want to share your horribly private lives with anyone else, then just don't add them and quit freaking out over it.
It's the internet, come on, people are going to stumble across your stupid log and might even think you're interesting. Or maybe they just want to add people to their friends list. Who cares?
>_

Word. I been pwned by the mass add action.

Which is actually pretty cool. And I see your amusement factor there. And I actually kinda enjoy it as well.

BUT. You slammed my girl BJ. And for this, you must pay. A sum of $200 would do nicely. In my name. You can PayPal it if you want.

Now, I'm not gonna step in on someone else's bitch fight here. But I will say that alike personalities often conflict, and BJ is delightfully arrogant in her own way - as are you. So then, as we see, there is conflict. This doesn't make her any better or worse than you; rather, you're too much alike to get along at all. So naturally, a battle ensues in which no one can really win at all.

... was there any point to that? Damned if I know. Shit. What the fuck am I doing online at 7:45am when I need to fold clothes and relocate my fish, anyway... stupid distractions...

You know, I read this, skimmed the comments, and I still have no friggen clue why people are so upset about being added.
To whomever said it would be horrible to have some unknown person add you to their friends list if their journal is friends only: Hey, I have a friends only journal, and I personaly don't care. Mostly because I know that unless I add you back, you can't read it any way. :P And I also don't see the point in making journals friends only unless you have a really good reason (for example, I'm on friends only because of very bizzare, random situations in which my journal was flamed for no reason, too many times. So I was like: Oh, fuck it.. that's too many people to block. >_<;;;)...
There's people on my friend of list that I haven't added back simply because I don't really want to see their journal every day. And I could give a shit if they remove me or not, because well, why the hell should i care? They think my journal's interesting enough to add, well, that's them. Not my problem.
I just cannot understand these idiots who are whining to be removed or actually getting their hackles up over someone else's wish to max out their friends list. Why do they give a shit? >_<
Again, people take LJ a bit too seriously, if you ask me... It's really sad that they haven't got a life outside of it, either.

Heh, I know Blackjackrocket, too. :P She's ok, but she can do some stupid stuff, too (sorry, dude, but seriously...)... ^.^;;;

read my comments above about not assuming everyone sees LJ as a trivial thing. And yes, I have a life otherwise; in fact, during my busy seasons I don't have time to post or to really read my friend's list.

I don't mind people adding me if it's because they actually like to read my stuff. What I want to know why everyone telling us we shouldn't "give a shit" is giving a shit about our annoyance. if you're not one of the serial adders, you have nothing at stake, so why don't you just go about your business and stop being a hypocrite?

Well, [info]blackjackrocket is a friend of mine, but I think she's overreacting a bit. Still, I think you should respect her wishes and those of the other people who are complaining, and remove them from your friends list. I mean, there is a maximum number of friends you can have anyway, so you can just pick people who won't get offended by it, can't you?

BTW, I don't mind. I think it's hilarious.

No. Not one person has said simply to me, "Hey, I know it's a gag, but can you please remove me?" They have either been bitchy, given me a stupid reason that has nothing to do with anything, or have...well, been bitchy.

And then tried nicely later.

So will I remove them? No.

To readers:
P.S. No, I will not remove you after saying this if you've already asked. In fact, I probably won't anyway, because this journal won't be around long. Bye now.

Did it ever occur to you that the reason why people are annoyed is because, as you've admitted, *you're purposefully trying to annoy them*? I mean if someone does something, and you KNOW the only reason they're doing it is that they're trying to annoy you...well, it's natural to get annoyed. I mean just the very fact that some random stranger WANTS to annoy you is annoying, ya know?

Also I've seen several people ask nicely in the comments for you to remove them, and you say no, and then you lie and say that "no one has asked you nicely."

I don't care that you added me since my journal is friends-only so you can't read it anyways, but I can stil see the side of the people who are annoyed.

And you say that gamers and people who sit on the internet have no life so they're being hypocrites by saying you have no life...that doesn't make sense. I mean, you can't see the difference between a person doing something that they enjoy like playing a game, and a person doing something solely to annoy others? Do you really not think that one of those things is more immature and no-life-ish than the other? I mean which is a bigger waste of time: watching a football game on TV, or running around the streets poking strangers to see to see if you can annoy them?

I also don't see why you think it's loser-ish for people to think that lj isn't trivial. For some people, lj is their main way of communicating with those they love and care for. If bonding and having relationships with people you love isn't an important thing in life, then I have no idea what is.

And yeah, some people "live online", for some people it's their whole life, but I don't think that's for anyone else to judge. Even though in my personal opinion, some things seem like more of a waste of time than others, I try not to judge other people, because I figure everyone should do whatever makes them happy, because we're all worm food in the end and when it's all over nothing we did here is gonna matter, so really when you get right down to it, everything is equally as pointless as anything else.

So I don't have a problem if your way of entertaining yourself is trying to annoy people by adding them, but I don't see why you need to act all high and mighty about it, like you make so much better use of your time than all the "losers" who actually spend time on "trivial" things like lj or playing video games or having friendships over the internet.

Also your obsession with [info]blackjackrocket is weird, tons of people have gotten mad at you over this, why do you continually focus on her and mention her over and over and talk about how much you owned her? She's a friend of mine in "real life."

right on!

really... people should not be that touchy about things like that. if they don't want you to read stuff, they don't have to add you back, and that prevents you from reading any friends-only entries... if they get mad about it and all they post are public entries, then they shouldn't freak out because chances are people are google-ing their way over to that person's journal and reading the public entries, anyways.

Really, what is with people and their stupidity...

Anywho, I feel special. I'm one of 750, and there are how many LJ users? I just know there are a lot... woo!
